Dr. Caroline Bartlett Crane, 1425 Hillcrest Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan. My dear Doctor Crane: The movement for Better Homes in America is now entering its fourth year. The 1924 campaign, in which you cooperated, was highly successful in every state and furnished abundant evidence of the value of the movement. I sincerely hope that you will again accept the chairmanship of the Better Homes Committee for Kalamazoo for the 1925 campaign. Better Homes Week has been set for May 10-17. In the campaign for 1925 emphasis will be put upon the demonstration of homes within the reach of families in moderate circumstances. With attention to sensible yet attractive furnishing, careful planting of premises and home garden, and to all the other factors which make for pleasant and wholesome home life, you and your committee can make a notable conribution to the well-being of your community. Will you please notify Dr. Ford of your acceptance as soon as possible, so that he may send you additional material. Faithfully yours, Herbert Hoover [handwritten signature]
