July 4th This anniversary of our national independence has been passed by me at home while the rest of the family have been from home fishing. This evening we went down to B to meet cousin Will. He did not come so I went up in the ball room with Eva to see them dance and left shortly with a poorer opinion of public halls than ever. I have been busy sewing, studying & writing through the day. How I wish I knew where I was going to school. 5th At home and at work for the first day that I have really gone to work since I was sick. The result is to night that I have
