The following is a transcription of Martha Baldwin's diary, 1859-1860. Question marks inclosed in parentheses represent words in the original diary that were illegible. Elipses are used to indicate larger portions of the text found to be illegible.

They say the next thing is to get me off to school. If they are going to B (I hope they will not) but if that is fate I wish they would go now or wish they could (?) and have it over with. 26th To day Gus came for me to go & get a saddle over to Mr. Hunts with her. Pleasant time. 27 Very, very busy getting ready for that long talked of ride which is to morrow. Mother has made a (?) to day & I have been busy. We start at eight.
