Description
The following is a transcription of Martha Baldwin's diary, 1859-1860. Question marks inclosed in parentheses represent words in the original diary that were illegible. Elipses are used to indicate larger portions of the text found to be illegible.

As I stood upon the porch to night in the bright moon light memory brought back the friends I had then met and then came the thought how soon am I to leave and how widely are we now scattered. Gus is to night in Ypsi. Perchance as she gazes on that moon and the (?) (?) and glitter stars that (?) the brow of night of me perhaps in imagination sees me standing here where we have so often stood together.----- Good night.
