31st Can it be the last day of January. Cold very cold. Studied this forenoon. H. George Torrey called. Father took me up to Mr. (?) this afternoon. Frank and I attended the (?) Lyceum. I am not ashamed of ours. Feb 1st Frank & I had a first best visit. She brought me home to night. Went up to Mollie’s and we went to grammar school. […] Mollie and I were there. Grand attendance, but a good time. I (?) my essay.
