Description
The following is taken from a transcription of Martha Baldwin’s diary (1858-1859). Illegible sections of the original text are noted as follows: ______. A parenthetical question mark (?) follows words in the original text that were not completely legible but were still transcribed. this evening. I have finished the oration for the M_________ Law and I did not intend to go to reading Virgil now, but have concluded to do nothing. ________, taking only to _____ a line each day and strictly apply the rules. The time I should have devoted to that I shall apply to reading and writing, and study mathematics some. I suppose I cannot go to school any where but at B, and I had rather teach than go there. But do not know as yet.
