Description
The following is taken from a transcription of Martha Baldwin’s diary (1858-1859). Illegible sections of the original text are noted as follows: ______. A parenthetical question mark (?) follows words in the original text that were not completely legible but were still transcribed. August 31. Father has been better. I went down to the village to see when Mrs. Young could come out but she has concluded she can’t come. Went to see Jennie Willetts for the same purpose but she is sick. Think things are coming to a pretty pass when you offer to go far and bring a person home and then not having them come. School in B is commenced. September 1. Went to Mr. Duncans to visit. There met Emily and Frank Opdyke. Miss Mary ______
