The following is taken from a transcription of Martha Baldwin’s diary (1858-1859). Illegible sections of the original text are noted as follows: ______. A parenthetical question mark (?) follows words in the original text that were not completely legible but were still transcribed. September 10. Mary went over to Uncle Franks. I went to stay with Gus. September 11. Called on Miss ______ at Mr. Gilletts. September 12. Down to church and sabbath school this afternoon. September 13. Have concluded to invite the young people around here tomorrow evening and have been to Birmingham and to invite them this afternoon.
