The following is taken from a transcription of Martha Baldwin’s diary (1858-1859). Illegible sections of the original text are noted as follows: ______. A parenthetical question mark (?) follows words in the original text that were not completely legible but were still transcribed. , full of fun and all that sort of thing I never saw anything of that sort about him. If tis so I shall hear of it from the people in B but I know what a pleasure tis to start stories and yarns of all sorts and shall know ______ I believe too much. September 16.
