Grand Haven’s second hospital was built at 1309 Sheldon Road. Construction began in 1938 and the 47-bed hospital opened in 1939. The original “North Building” is shown. Additions included an obstetrics wing built in 1953 and a medical-surgical wing, added on in 1970, resulting in a total of 116 beds.
