Description
This page is incorrectly labeled as number 188 - the correct page number is 187. The following is taken from a transcription of Martha Baldwin’s diary (1858-1859). Illegible sections of the original text are noted as follows: ______. A parenthetical question mark (?) follows words in the original text that were not completely legible but were still transcribed. March 28. Monday brought the usual round of duties which with the coming of eve we finished and we have one less Monday to live. I had promised to go down to Mr. Gilletts with Hudson and Almira but it had got so late that I thought I was going to escape and we had just got into the middle of an interesting story when they came. I had a very good time but then I don’t enjoy their society and I’m not going with them any more if they are mad or pleased.
