Page is hand numbered ""24"". -- July 24 - Concert given at Service Men's Center in honor of the Coast Guardsmen, presented by John Josey and Esther Cummings. Coast Guardsmen from Portage, Sand Hill and Eagle Harbor stations to attend. On program are Loretta Waldenmeyer, Elena leinonen, Earl Seal, Charles Malmquist, Wesley Williams, Armondo Zei, William Fountain, Taunty Peterson, Roy Snell, Bob Norman, and Rev. Fr. Herman Fadale. Piano selection ""Keweenaw Land"" presented and composed by Wesley Williams. -- Obituary of Mrs. H. L. Byers, notice sent to Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Goodreau of Houghton. Son of Mrs. Byers is Jack Byers, a member of Michigan Tech faculty. -- Article on history of 107th Engineers in connection with reunion of 1st Battalion, 107th Engineers to be held at George Wahl camp. History includes, Company A, 1st Michigan Engineers of Calumet orderd to Mexican border in 1916, war department requested that battalion of engineers be formed with Company A, in service at Camp Custer as the nucleus. Recruitment for Company B began in Copper County, and for Company C in Iron Company. Both companies went into service in 1917 on the campus of Michigan Tech. Battalion organization consisted of Major Ben Vallat, Captain Ralph Loveland, Captain Harold, Schmitt, and Captain Pat Lewis. -- Article on Bowling tournament held at White House alleys, March 15 [1943].
