Description
An accident occurred on the Duluth South Shore and Atlantic Railway near Sand River station, on the 18th day of September 1887 at 535 o'clock P.M. caused by: Empty engine no 33 leaving track at the curve 1/4 miles west of Sand River, apparently caused by a ragged or badly worn iron rail which the flange or the driving wheel mounted. No persons hurt and no damage done to engine. Casualties resulting from the above accident none.
