Description
An accident occurred upon the Duluth South Shore and Atlantic Railway 4 miles west of St. Ignance station on the 15th day of November 1887, at 805 o'clcok P.M. caused by train breaking in two. The rear part came into contact with the forward part, cuaisng a box car to jump off its truck bearings and leave the track. 8 ore cars (unloaded) following also left the track blocking main line for 11 hours. Transferred passengers until track was clear. No person injured. Damage to rolling stock $243.00.
