Description
The following is a transcription of Martha Baldwin's diary, 1859-1860. Question marks inclosed in parentheses represent words in the original diary that were illegible. Elipses are used to indicate larger portions of the text found to be illegible.

15th To night I went up to Mr. Fishs to get the address of that friend of Emilys who is attending Antioch. Did not feel very well but had a pleasant ride. 16th At home and busy. 17th Did not go down to church for it has been such an intolerably hot day. Have been studying all day and am through the twentieth exercise in Latin Prose and the first book in Geometry and get along in the grammar. 18th Took a short ride with Lizzie to night. 19th I went down to the village this morning on errands. Saw Emily (?) a few minutes.
