Description
The following is taken from a transcription of Martha Baldwin’s diary (1858-1859). Illegible sections of the original text are noted as follows: ______. A parenthetical question mark (?) follows words in the original text that were not completely legible but were still transcribed. the many times we all met at the reading of our papers are never to be forgotten. There was not one evening we spent at home through the winter. The last night was when a band of girls went down to Parker’s school house in company with Ed Haight (?) and R.______. Then Mr. Jenks left B and I boarded with Mrs. Jenny. April 5th Gus, Em Tripp, Lara and I and G(?) Torrey (?) went to Mr. Young to eat maple sugar in a snow storm. Came back and spent the evening at the music room. The next night but one, Laura and I went to call on Mr. ________ and he said they were going to have prayer meeting but
