Description
The following is a transcription of Martha Baldwin's diary, 1859-1860. Question marks inclosed in parentheses represent words in the original diary that were illegible. Elipses are used to indicate larger portions of the text found to be illegible.

Called on Mary B & with her on Mrs. S. Dec. 6 Went to (?) this morning. Dec. 7 Cold cold. At my lessons as usual. 8th Mr. Hill from home to day. 9th. Went to (?) to day. Soon after I came home (?) Mary and (?) came and spent the day. Mrs. Hughes & Mrs. (?) called to day. Better late than never the saying is but I don’t think her very neighborly. George called this evening. My lessons are about half got and I am most sick. 10th My cold very bad. 12 Went to Presbyterian church.
