Whole paragraphs found to be illegible have been noted in the following manner: [P] The play is Merchant of Venice. Yes & must write for that box. 22 Did not go into the Botany class to day. Recited in C.S. But did not read my composition as Mrs S wants me to read next Saturday with all. I shall have to write a new one for I won’t read that. 23 Saturday Have worked, have read & done a little of everything. No more reading circles. How the wind does blow. 24 Sunday. Went to Baptist church Alice and Charlie baptised. Have been writing & doing a little of everything. I did not go down to church this afternoon, but guess I’ll go this evening. Shall have to go to the Baptist for shant dare to come home alone. O tis such a pleasant day. Only two Sundays more in Kalamazoo. 26th Tuesday. Rain & rain. To day noon went over to Loo’s [?] This evening Alice & I are invited down there. Charly came up from the store. We had a very good time. Twas raining so hard that we thought best to stay all night & go home early in the morning.
