Description
The following is a transcription of Martha Baldwin's diary, 1859-1860. Question marks inclosed in parentheses represent words in the original diary that were illegible. Elipses are used to indicate larger portions of the text found to be illegible.

11th Recited. Went down to Grammar School, and in to the (?) meeting a few moments. 12th Recited. I am so sorry anything of the sort has happened. Mary did act so and has ever since she has been here that Father told her she must go home Monday whereupon she went away said she was going to Mrs. Stuarts. I am sorry but it can’t be helped. Lucy called. Mary (?) also. We talked over the ride and I feel better to know the rest (?) as high coming home as I.
