Interview conducted by Roger F. Lane for the Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society. Justice Voelker recalls his childhood and education. He discusses the books he has written under the pseudonym Robert Traver; his appointment and impressions of the supreme court; running for Supreme Court justice against Joseph Moynihan Jr.; and some cases he had while a District Attorney. He reads a selection from his book “Laughing Whitefish;” discusses decision making on the Court; leaving the Court; and People v. Hildabridle; and Justice George Edwards.
