Photo caption on back from unidentified Packard source: The 1957 Packard Clipper 4-door sedan 2-inches lower than last year's models and offering the best performance and handling characteristics in company history, will be demonstrated by Studebaker-Packard dealers across the country beginning Thursday, January 24, the new car, the first Packard Clipper to be made in South Bend, Indiana, following consolidation of all company automobile manufacturing there, will be powered by a 275-horsepower V-8 engine equipped with a supercharger, in addition to the supercharger, the Packard Clippers will be the only medium priced American cars to have automatic transmission as standard equipment and the twin traction power dividing axel as optional equipment, another exclusive engineering feature will be the new variable rate front springing which has the advantage of soft springing on smooth roads and stiffer springing on rough roads.
