Description
8x10 black and white Packard Co. file photograph of a 1929 Packard seven-eights rear left view, top raised, experimental car. Inscribed on photo back: 1929 Packard deluxe eight, individual custom, sixth series, model 645, 8-cylinder, 106-horsepower, 145.5-inch wheelbase, 5-person convertible victoria (prototype for body type #1711), by Dietrich Inc., chassis; probably 1929 eight deluxe, sixth series model 645 with some 1930 seventh series features, including headlamps (but not fender mounted side lights), bail cap, spear head at forward end of belt molding, long front fenders, engine; experimental 12-cylinder in line power plant, body; appears to be the same Dietrich convertible victoria (prototype of body style #1711) 5- person body, as photographed earlier on prototype 745 chassis, with certain modifications necessary to accommodate added length of in-line 12-cylinder engine, exterior: hood, cowl, body, window reveals, - orange, fenders, apron, moldings, windshield frame, silver-bright metal, including louver doors & wheels - chrome-plated.
