Description
The following is taken from a transcription of Martha Baldwin’s diary (1858-1859). Illegible sections of the original text are noted as follows: ______. A parenthetical question mark (?) follows words in the original text that were not completely legible but were still transcribed. mathematics, I can and must do it and where there is a will there is a way. He looks so sick and discouraged. I wanted to ask him to come out and visit but of course he did not dare to. I must write and study some yet to night.
