Description
The following is taken from a transcription of Martha Baldwin’s diary (1858-1859). Illegible sections of the original text are noted as follows: ______. A parenthetical question mark (?) follows words in the original text that were not completely legible but were still transcribed. and Verona. ________ a __________ t Mrs. __________. Spencer Baynol(?) is very sick indeed. Father is away tonight and the heat is extreme. I worked another contribution for the Jacksonian. August 10. It seems as though there ought to be a bigger family to enjoy the porch this extreme hot weather. I have been swinging to try to cool off.
