Description
Dave Stober, Hamtramck clothier, Liberty State Bank Board member, civic leader and friend of Frank Barbaro, owner of The Bowery, the nightspot of metropolitan Detroit during the 1940s and early 1950s which was located on the east side of Joseph Campau between Connor and Carpenter, tells of the top flight entertainment that appeared there. Danny Thomas (Amos Jacobs) got his start there as an MC. Desi Arnaz, Tony Martin, Martha Raye, Sophie Tucker, and Bob Crosby played The Bowery.
