October 12. Very busy getting ready to go. We shall go to Lexington via Mr. Clemens and St. Clair.
I hate to go for I know I shall be lonely and homesick and the people at home will miss me, yet I want to.
October 13. Left home Mother and ________, all the dear ones, this morning. Got to Mt. Clemens about three o’clock in the rain. Went down to the village with Emma and called on Mrs. Williams.
