October 21. Have been writing to Verona and reading all day. To church this eve.
October 22. Thought I should certainly get letters today but the boat did not come in last night.
October 23. Got a letter from home and one from V.E.P. but none from Gus. Why she does not write I can not see. She must be sick certainly she would have written even if she were well
