Description
Charles E. Wyman and Henry W. Buswell began operating a sawmill in 1864 and built the structure shown in 1869, near the footings of today’s U.S. 31 bridge. The mill had a circular saw, a gang edger, trimmer and lather, and employed about 35 men. The mill was destroyed by fire in 1884.
