February 19. A dull gloomy day within but Mary is staying here now and she and Sarah and I do not make it very dull or quiet either within.
I have just ________ from the sitting room to write in my journal. I do not see why in the world I do not hear from home. It was week before last that I heard and before a week has barely past and nearer two.
