February 20. Sarah and I did not get up in time to go to church. Went this eve, Sarah and Jane ____. I have been writing to Mary Ann and Gus.
February 21. This afternoon, Sarah and I went up to _____. Nothing is thought of but that ball. I have made up my mind over again to go.
This evening we went to dancing school with Jane. Had a very pleasant time.
February 22. Fix, fuss and then to the ball. I did hate awfully to go expecting to make some blunder every step I took in the dance. But fate was on my side and I got along remarkably well.
