Description
In 1876 George A. Farr opened his own law office in Grand Haven. He was City Attorney, member of the Board of Education, Trustee of the Northern Michigan Insane Asylum, State Senator from 1879 to 1882, Vice President of the National Bank of Grand Haven, Regent of the University of Michigan, Collector of Customs for the Port of Grand Haven for nine years, and agent for the American Surety Company. He was Republican in politics and in 1880 he represented his party at the Republican National Convention.
