March 9. Pleasant. Wrote this forenoon. Went to the cemetery with Mrs. Miles, Sarah and Ben this afternoon and spent the afternoon and evening at Marias.
This evening when I came, found a letter waiting for me from home saying Grandma was very bad and for me to come to Mr. Clements Saturday.
That I can not do for the stages have stopped running but I have written them that I will come by boat and be at _____ Friday. I fear I shall not see Grandma again but that is the best I can do.
