Description
Plank's Tavern was located on the bluff on the North side of the St. Joseph River near Tiscornia Beach. The hotel was said to be patterned after the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. Ferry boats carried visitors back and forth across the St. Joseph River from the hotel to the attractions at Silver Beach on the South side of the river as it enters Lake Michigan. This popular hotel burned to the ground in 1898.
