Description
Photograph of City Bookstore in Lansing, Michigan. Located on SE corner of Washington and Michigan Avenues. Both buildings burned in 1871. Later, site of American State Savings Bank Building. Ted Foster used to stand in a wagon box in front of the 2nd store and read the news from the Detroit papers which arrived by stagecoach between 4 and 5 P.M. via Jackson.
