Page is hand numbered ""18"". -- McNaughton trophy, with photo, remains in Calumet with win of Calumet Laurium Chevrolets over the American Soo Indians, the 1939-40 champions of the Northern Michigan Hockey Association. -- Apr., 1940 - Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Damarell of School Street, Ahmeek celebrated 10th wedding anniversary April 19. Wesley Williams played and sang. -- Apr., 1940 - Mr. and Mrs. Edward Snell of Ahmeek mark 40th wedding anniversary. Mr. Snell was marshall of Copper City, member of Keweenaw band, Ahmeek Male Quartet and Cornish Carol Club of Calumet. -- Apr., 1940 - Legion Posts of Copper Country meet at Johnston Post of Mohawk, coming from L'Anse, Houghton, Hancock, Chassell, South Range, Lake Linden, Calumet Keweenaw county board of supervisors, road commission, county officials draft board and Allouez township school board. William L. Kaiser endorsed for 1941. Upper Peninsula meeting to be held in Crystal Falls. Wesley Williams and Charles Malmquist and Abe Blum entertained. Chairmen were William A. Rowe and Wilfred O. Dunn. Next meeting of Sector wil be at Sauvola in Chassell. -- Poem printed in newspaper ""Nicknane Useless"" -- Calumet high school glee club to perform. Singers include Emily Bolf, Roberta Williams, Verna Hilden, Francis Stukel, Anthony Maczynski, Grace Tukkanen, Shirley Christensen, Donald Blum, Blanche McKean, Donald McLeod, Martha Karna, Lenore Gluyas, Betty Grindatti, and Clyde Shaltz.
